Support
- I can provide assessment and therapy for children with challenges including Developmental Delay, Developmental Language Difficulties and Social Communication Difficulties.
- I can support children who have varied and multi layered presentations and difficulties with eating and drinking including physical challenges as well as a need for skills development, restricted and selective eaters.
- Short as well as long-term contracts with educational settings, working collaboratively with settings. Such contracts could be half termly, or longer. Such contracts could be for assessment, target setting for individual children, supporting specific interventions and also supporting targeted interventions delivered by school staff. - For children with eating, drinking and swallowing challenges, individual targets and support – including multi-disciplinary liaison, report writing and advice regarding safety risk around mealtimes as well as liaising to support flexibility in settings according to children’s presentation and challenges.
I will support the assessment process by observation which could be through Face to Face Assessment as well as through the use of video recordings where appropriate. A detailed case history and liaison of presenting challenges will be carried out with parents and also, where appropriate, additional observation can take place in an educational or pre-school setting. Support can be given for children wherever they are learning, as well as potentially eating and drinking. This can support consistent management across a child’s day.
Working collaboratively and in partnership with families and settings is essential to supporting children to reach their potential.
Training and Development can also be provided to enhance understanding and support. This can be bespoke and delivered according to the needs of the child/children and circumstances.
I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, The Health and Care Professions Council and also a member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice. Additionally, I have an enhanced DBS and I am also registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)
Services

- Bespoke Guidelines for different settings as requested to support optimal management.
- Training and support for families and settings as required.
- Review and monitoring as required.
- Referral and liaison with other professionals and settings as requested.
Fee structure
- Initial Assessment. This will be charged at £80/hour. It is important to note that an assessment may require more than 1 appointment. I anticipate that the first appointment will be at least 90 minutes.
- Further/additional assessment and visits to other settings will be charged at the same rate.
- All other activities including Reports/Liaison/attendance at meetings/visits to settings/travel will be charged at the same rate.
- Training £120 per hour (planning and preparation time charged accordingly)
- Mileage - 50p per mile and travel time negotiated for longer journeys over 15 miles.
Payment terms.
All sessions must be paid for either in advance, by BACS payment or cash on the day of the appointment. Receipts will be given for all payments.
Further appointments will only be paid following settlement of costs. Invoices can be sent where necessary for settings as appropriate etc.
Report/guidelines must be paid for upon receipt.
A contract will need to be shared and agreed prior to an assessment or sessions being attended.
Cancellation
For cancellations with less than 24 hours notice 50% of fee will be charged. Where there is no notice given and an appointment does not go ahead the full rate will be charged.
